Diagnostic
Dyscalculia Assessments

We offer comprehensive diagnostic dyscalculia assessments to help identify and understand a learner’s mathematical difficulties.
These assessments are suitable for children, young people and adults who may be experiencing ongoing challenges with maths, despite appropriate teaching and support.
Why have an assessment?
A diagnostic assessment provides a clearer picture of how a learner understands and works with numbers. It helps to:
-
identify whether a profile consistent with dyscalculia is present
-
understand underlying strengths and areas of difficulty
-
guide effective support at home, in school, or in further education
What to expect...
The assessment process is designed to be supportive, thorough, and focused on the child's needs.
It costs £650 and will include:
-
Pre-assessment questionnaires for the child, their parents/carers, and their school
-
A two-to-three-hour face-to-face assessment session (with breaks as needed)
-
A range of standardised and diagnostic activities exploring:
-
number understanding and numerical magnitude processing
-
mathematical skills
-
key cognitive processes linked to learning
-
Following the session, a detailed written report is provided.
The report will give you a clear and accessible understanding of your child’s learning profile. It includes:
-
an explanation of assessment findings
-
whether the profile is consistent with dyscalculia
-
strengths and areas of difficulty
-
practical, tailored recommendations to support progress, both at home and at their educational setting
